Feedback - Help make 2023 even better!
We would love to hear your feedback on the year, whatever part you played at club. This 2 minute feedback for doesn't ask for any personal information. We will look for any occurring themes and use them to guide us in 2023.
Reflection of 2022
Springfield Gamers saw 2022 with a spew of regular gaming after Covid's dark years :-) We met almost every week at Cafe63 or Ymca CENTRAL + monthly at Ymca LAKES > We've had solid attendance throughout the year and many different games saw table time. Here's some thoughts from the committee
- committee of 9: We started with 9 committee members, showing we have community support. There's still a lot to learn about running a group and committee as several members left through the year for various reasons. We thank them all for their contributions and time and efforts in helping the club be where it is today :-) We finish with 6 remaining members and thank them for their work in making the club a success.
- convention: SpringCon '22 was a ripper! Almost $800 was raised for BeyondBlue and we brought around 600 gamers into 1 space and time. We built connections with clubs & groups, traders and community leaders. The gremlins are excited to build on this for 2023
(Interested in helping? email springfieldgamersqld@gmail.com)
- Bunnings Sausage Sizzle: SG ran 3 sausage sizzles to really help our bottom line and provide financial security for the club and helped fund SpringCon '22.
- 14 Wargame members: Welcome and thank you!
- 23 board game members: Welcome and thank you!
- many casual gamers: Welcome and thank you!
Memberships are a key part to our club. They help judge our strength and support of the community, provide finance for the year, and best of all, they provide fantastic value to you, club members, whilst also allowing more time to play games rather than making payments. We budget for 15 of each type of memberships for 2023.
Aims for 2023
Better gaming evenings, better venues. We've noticed cafe63 is getting fewer people and a few comments have been made, and we listen. We are no longer organising cafe63 gaming, instead focussing on fortnightly gaming @CENTRAL Ymca.
Dungeons & Dragons / Roleplaying: We are hoping to get RPG's up and running. We have interest from several experienced Dungeon Master who organise the games, and a stack of resources... watch this space!
Club admin: Club leadership will be split into a committe of 3 (President, Secretary and Treasurer) and a volunteer council. The council will be task focussed, for example, creating Facebook events, leading guided games, quartermasters, club librarian etc. details are still be worked out. We recognise that a better orientation process is needed at the start of the year with specific role descriptions to help guide volunteers
First Aiders: We will apply for a grant and support paid club members to complete first aid courses, being first aiders for club days/nights. Details tbc
Events - SpringCon '23 has inspired us to focus on more events throughout 2023. Conventions, tournaments, market days and fundraising.
Better collaboration with other gaming organisations. Work with stores, leaders, clubs and manufacturers to make our games and events even better.
